Castles & Palaces of Europe

Monday, June 18

1:00 pm   –   Seminar Room  –  Free!

Castles and palaces are ubiquitous features of Europe’s landscapes. Dr. Daniel Dillman, distinguished Teaching Professor Emeritus of Northern Illinois University is back, and this year he will discuss the differences between castles and palaces and how each evolved. He’ll also look at the importance of location for both. Travel with Dr. Dillman to Great Britain, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Germany as he gives special attention to Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Warwick Castle, Versailles, Fountainebleau, the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna, the Royal Palace in Madrid, and the Alhambra. Dr. Dillman is an excellent speaker, and many have enjoyed his past talks at The Commons of Evergreen on Haunted Lighthouses and Ghost Shops, Tiger Stadium, and Route 66.
